His statement followed protests by Igbo elders concerned about Kanu's continued detention and calling for direct engagement with President Tinubu. Simultaneously, Kanu's lawyer accused the DSS of misrepresenting his client's medical condition, alleging they are concealing his critical cardiovascular issues and intimidating medical professionals. The lawyer further questioned the DSS's competence in managing Kanu's health and criticized their refusal to release full medical results, claiming their actions constitute "lies, concealment, and medical quackery."
