FG Orders NCAA To Name And Shame Erring Airlines
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is cracking down on airlines that repeatedly abandon stranded passengers. NCAA spokesperson Michael Achimugu announced on π that the agency will no longer tolerate such behavior, emphasizing the need for airlines to uphold passenger rights and act professionally, even amidst operational challenges. Supported by the Minister of Aviation, the NCAA will immediately begin "naming and shaming" airlines that violate regulations, specifically in instances of passenger abandonment during flight disruptions. Achimugu stressed that while disruptions aren't always the airline's fault, compliance with regulations is mandatory and punishable infractions will face maximum penalties. This initiative aims to protect passengers and ensure airlines take responsibility for managing stranded passengers, rather than leaving it to NCAA officials.
