Police Bans Sanusi, Bayero From Holding Sallah Durbar In Kano
Kano police, in conjunction with other security agencies, have announced a ban on all Durbar activities during the 2025 Eid-El-Kabir Sallah celebrations. SP Abdullahi Haruna stated the ban aims to maintain peace and order, continuing a ban initially implemented during the Eid-El-Fitr celebrations due to credible intelligence about potential security threats. The ban includes horse riding, car racing, and possession of weapons. Authorities warn against any actions that could disrupt peace and urge parents to caution their children against being used by subversive elements. The announcement contradicts an earlier directive from the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, who had instructed District Heads to prepare for the Sallah Durbar.
