Daddy Lumba's spouse, Odo Broni, files a counterclaim in court
Following Daddy Lumba's death, a legal dispute has emerged regarding his marital status and funeral arrangements. Odo Broni, claiming to be Daddy Lumba's legal wife, has filed a counterclaim in the Kumasi High Court seeking a declaration that the musician divorced Akosua Serwaa before his death and that she is his rightful wife. Akosua Serwaa's lawyer confirmed the counterclaim, emphasizing it challenges her marital status. Previously, the court dismissed Akosua Serwaa's injunction to halt funeral arrangements, granting the family head authority to proceed. The court stipulated that only the person who deposited the body at the mortuary has viewing rights, causing upset amongst the deceased's sisters. The parties must submit legal documents by October 31st for a Case Management Conference on November 14th, 2025.
