Ekiti Govt pays N503m as compensation to land owners affected by power project
Ekiti State Government paid N503 million to 1,050 land owners whose lands were acquired for the execution of the 132/133 power project. The project is a critical national infrastructure that aims to boost power supply and improve the overall development of the state. Governor Biodun Oyebanji described the project as a vital national infrastructure that will significantly improve electricity transmission, not only in Ekiti, but across the region. He urged citizens to partner the contractor handling the project and assured that all towns will be connected to the national power grid, enhancing economy, trade, and commerce. The governor also clarified that though the first tranche of payment covered Ijan and Ikere Ekiti, all other communities will be duly compensated
