Bode George, a PDP leader, criticized Governor Adeleke's departure from the party as a desperate act driven by internal strife. While acknowledging the party's issues, George believes the PDP will strengthen by shedding dissenting elements. He accused the APC government of undermining democracy by targeting the PDP and meddling in its affairs, specifically pointing to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike's alleged interference and the disruption at the PDP National Secretariat, which he called an assault on democracy. George criticized the government's focus on political positioning for the 2027 elections amidst rising insecurity, urging President Tinubu to restrain Wike and warning Wike about damaging the party that fostered his career, emphasizing the importance of reputation over temporary power.
