INEC ends phase 1 voter registration December 10 in Yobe
INEC Yobe State has announced the end of the physical continuous voter registration (CVR) exercise on December 10th. Resident Electoral Commissioner Ibrahim Abdullahi stated that a preliminary voter register will be displayed for claims and objections from December 15th to 21st, allowing registrants to correct errors in their information. Complaints stemming from the display period will be handled on December 21st. While the current phase ends soon, a second in-person registration phase will commence on January 5th, 2026. The initial phase began with online registration on August 18th, followed by in-person registration on August 25th. INEC emphasizes the importance of accurate voter registration as a critical function mandated by the Electoral Act 2022.
