APC Crisis Deepens In Cross River As NWC Summons State Chairman
The APC's National Working Committee (NWC) has intervened in a crisis within its Cross River State chapter following a vote of no confidence against the State Chairman, Alphonsus Eba, by the State Executive Committee (SEC). The APC National Legal Adviser summoned Eba to address allegations that led to his purported removal and the appointment of Ntufam Ekum Ojogu as acting chairman. Eba dismissed his removal as unconstitutional, accusing his opponents of a politically motivated agenda and alleging financial misconduct involving over N60 million. Despite calls for his resignation and accusations of high-handedness, Eba remains a prominent figure within the party and insists the action against him "will not stand". The NWC's intervention aims to clarify the situation, ensure due process, and reconcile the chapter ahead of the 2027 elections.
