INEC urges Nigerians to expose ineligible, deceased persons on voter register
INEC is urging Nigerians to participate in the "Display for Claims and Objections" from December 15-21, 2025, to identify deceased or ineligible individuals on the voter register. This comes as the first quarter of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) closes on December 10, 2025. INEC seeks public cooperation to maintain voter roll integrity. So far, nearly 10 million online pre-registrations have been recorded, with over 2.5 million registrations fully completed. CVR remains suspended in Anambra and FCT but will resume nationwide on January 5, 2026. INEC Yobe announced the display of the preliminary register for claims and objections will begin on December 15th, lasting for seven days, and the second phase of CVR will commence on January 5, 2026.
