In 2007, all fisheries products from Guinea were banned from exporting to EU markets due to significant deficiencies in the management of fisheries resources and non-compliance with standards for processing fishery products.

At the same time, audits of processing facilities for products intended for export were carried out to ensure their compliance with EU hygiene and food safety standards.

It is therefore worth remembering that the history of the export of fishery products from Guinea to the European Union is a testimony of resilience, determination and cooperation.

Thanks to these concerted efforts, Guinea has gradually overcome the obstacles that prevented it from exporting its fishery products to the EU.
