‘Use technology as a force for good, ‘ Temitope Ogunwusi charges new Lagos tech trainees
Sixty young women graduated from the SheLevate Tech Digital Empowerment Bootcamp, a collaboration between the Hopes Alive Initiative for Africa (HAI) and the French Embassy in Nigeria. At the graduation ceremony held at the University of Lagos, Temitope Enitan-Ogunwusi, Deputy Convener of HAI and wife of the Ooni of Ife, urged the graduates to use their new digital skills for nation-building and social impact. The program, funded by the French Embassy's FEF-CSO grant, trained the women in various technology skills, including web design, development, UI/UX design, data analytics, and digital marketing. SheLevate aims to bridge the gender gap in technology and empower underserved women. The Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development encouraged the graduates to be innovators in the digital space. The event concluded with awards and prizes for outstanding students, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the "Digital Queens."
