Breaking: FG Begins Payment Of New ₦77,000 NYSC Allowance
Corps members have begun receiving the increased allowance stipend after months of delays. Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, announced that the backlog of payments would be cleared by the end of March. The delay was attributed to budgetary constraints since the increase was not initially included in the budget. Olawande stated that the budgetary allocation had now been approved and signed, enabling the payments. Concerns about outgoing corps members receiving their back pay were addressed, with Olawande assuring that their backlogs would be paid, after they expressed skepticism due to months of broken promises from the government.
