NUPRC Remits ₦8.79 Trillion To Federation Account In 10 Months
Between January and October 2025, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) remitted ₦8.79 trillion to the Federation Account. October 2025 saw a notable increase in revenue, with ₦873.10 billion remitted, a 17.67% rise from September, driven by royalties, gas flare penalties, rentals, and miscellaneous oil revenues. Despite the positive trend, this amount was still 27.53% below the budgeted revenue, primarily due to fluctuating crude oil prices and declining production. NNPC's outstanding statutory obligations from January to October 2025 are $56,808,752.32 and ₦1,021,550,672,578.87. The improved October revenue offered temporary relief to the government facing fiscal pressures, though sustained efforts are needed to stabilize production and enhance compliance.
