11 out of PNC's 16-member NEC resign, form new party called PNP

With just about seven months to the 2024 general election, eleven out of sixteen members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the People’s National Convention (PNC) have announced their resignation, catalyzing the formation of a new political entity, the People’s National Party (PNP).

Seidu asserted that the reinstatement of individuals accused of financial malfeasance and misconduct was incompatible with the party's principles of integrity and credibility, especially in light of the legacy of the party's founder, Dr.

Hilla Limann.

Seidu emphasized,"We cannot in good conscience allow individuals lacking integrity and credibility to govern our party,"echoing the sentiments of the departing NEC members.

The emergence of the People’s National Party signifies a profound fracture within the PNC and sets the stage for a dynamic political landscape in Ghana, as both parties vie for influence and legitimacy in the lead-up to the forthcoming elections.
