Transition time: "Heavy" reaction from the ANAD which warns the CNRD

ANAD recalls that the country's main driving forces have insistently requested, in keeping with the spirit of the Charter, the setting up of a framework for direct dialogue between them and the CNRD, with the participation of civil society and technical and financial partners, under the mediation of an ECOWAS facilitator.

It is with great surprise that the ANAD followed, this Saturday, April 30, 2022, the address of the President of the transition imposing on the nation an unjustifiable duration of the transition.

In a statement published this Sunday, May 1, 2022, the ANAD announced that it strongly rejects this unilateral decision which violates the Charter in its article 77 which provides that "the duration of the transition will be fixed by COMMON AGREEMENT between the living forces of the nation and the CNRD".

ANAD denounces this obstinate desire to retain power, beyond the time required for the organization of credible elections, through maneuvers and schemes that do no credit to the CNRD, which had sworn to lead an inclusive and transparent transition, making justice its compass.

It is therefore not a surprise that the CNRD relies on the oriented conclusions of this consultation framework to grant itself a 39-month extension..
