NDLEA Secures Conviction Of Five International Drug Kingpins [Photos]

Five members of international drug cartels have been sentenced to a combined 21 years in prison by a Federal High Court in Lagos, Nigeria. Olasupo Michael Oladimeji, Muaezee Ademola Ogunbiyi, and Sola Adegoke, leaders of one cartel, received five years each for trafficking cocaine concealed in textiles. Authorities seized 20.5kg of cannabis from Ogunbiyi's home and a Range Rover from Adegoke's, both of which were forfeited to the government. In a separate case, Obunike Joseph Obichukwu and Uzorchukwu Godspower Chukwurah, members of another syndicate, received a three-year sentence each with an option to pay a 2 million naira fine for trafficking cocaine and tramadol concealed in motor spare parts. Additionally, 4 million naira paid as a bribe by Obunike was forfeited. The arrests and convictions were carried out by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
