PDP Crisis Deepens As Wike’s Faction Suspends Damagum, Others
Nigeria's PDP is experiencing a deepening crisis with a faction, allegedly backed by Minister Nyesom Wike, suspending Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum and five other NWC members. This action follows Damagum's NWC earlier suspending the National Legal Adviser and two others. The faction, led by the PDP National Secretary, cited incompetence, financial misconduct, and disregarding court judgments as reasons for Damagum's one-month suspension. Other suspended officials include the National Publicity Secretary, Deputy National Vice Chairman (South), National Financial Secretary, National Youth Leader, and Deputy National Secretary. The National Vice Chairman (North Central), Mohammed Abdulrahman, has been appointed as the Acting National Chairman. All suspended members are to face a disciplinary committee.
