Some People Are Dancing While The Ship Is Sinking – Obi Warns Of Impending Doom

Former Anambra Governor Peter Obi, speaking at a book presentation in Abuja, sharply criticized Nigeria's widespread insecurity and hardship, stating citizens live as refugees domestically and abroad due to government neglect. He warned of impending crisis impacting all Nigerians regardless of status. Obi lamented the misallocation of resources, contrasting government building renovations and celebrations with maternal mortality rates and out-of-school children. He attributed Nigeria's issues to poor leadership and lack of value creation, emphasizing that hoarding money without generating value fuels poverty. While supporting currency devaluation and fuel subsidy removal, Obi insisted on first eradicating corruption to stabilize the naira, citing Ghana and Angola as examples.
