Fight against trafficking in persons: The headquarters of the central service for the protection of vulnerable persons completely rehabilitated thanks to the financial support of the European Union

The ceremony took place in the presence of the Minister of Defence, a representative of the Minister of Justice Keeper of the Seals, a representative of the Minister for the Advancement of Women, Children and Vulnerable Persons, a representative of the European Union, a representative of the French Embassy in Guinea, the High Commander of the National Gendarmerie and partners working in the field of the fight against human trafficking in Guinea.

This rehabilitation, which is part of the fight against human trafficking and the protection of victims of this phenomenon, is one of the strategic axes of the multi-year action plan (2020-2022) of the Guinean committee for the fight against human trafficking.

"The support consists of the complete rehabilitation of the old building and an extension by adding new additional equipped offices, the construction of a first reception center with a capacity of 24 places for minors, women and men who are victims of trafficking and other vulnerabilities with the following features: an office with a lawyer so that those supported can benefit from legal and judicial assistance, a canteen, a medical assistance infirmary, an office for support psychosocial, a borehole for the whole complete system", detailed Alessandra Bianco.

"This renovated and equipped center will undoubtedly contribute to increasing the intervention capacities of the central service for the protection of vulnerable people in order to implement its various actions to assist victims and intensify repression against the perpetrators of this practice", explained Mohamed Diaby on behalf of Aicha Nanette Conté.

In his speech, on behalf of Aicha Nanette Conté, Mohamed Diaby explained that the inauguration of this Service in the context of the fight against human trafficking reflects the Guinean Government's desire to create an environment allowing victims to benefit from measures protection in accordance with Guinea's international commitments.

This rehabilitation is part of the implementation of the regional project to support the fight against human trafficking in the countries of the Gulf of Guinea.
