While this raises the country's profile, it comes at a high financial cost, with significant state funds directed to event organizers. The temporary solution of using tents and marquees for events has become the norm, leading to logistical expenses and potentially revenue loss for the state. A journalist advocates for investing in versatile infrastructure, like Rwanda's Kigali Arena, a multi-purpose venue, that would solve the lack of modern spaces for both sports and large-scale events, generating stable income for the state. The dependence on costly tents should only be temporary, instead of becoming the normal means of accommodating events.
