Enugu govt demolishes building used for kidnapping
The Enugu State Government demolished a building in Umueze Awkunanaw used by kidnappers to detain victims. This action follows the rescue of a kidnapped individual and the recovery of arms and ammunition at the property. Prime suspect Igwenagu Ogbodo and his gang escaped with gunshot wounds during the raid. Council Chairperson John Ogbodo praised Governor Peter Mbah's commitment to fighting insecurity, stating the demolition aligns with state laws and serves as a deterrent to criminals. He urged communities to be vigilant and report suspicious activity, warning property owners they are responsible for their tenants' actions, as any property used for criminal purposes will be demolished. This is not the first demolition of its kind in the state, but it is the first in Nkanu West.
