Emefiele’s Ex-Aide Reveals How He Delivered $400,000 Cash To Former CBN Gov
Adetola, former executive assistant to Godwin Emefiele, testified in the trial where Emefiele and Henry Omoile face 19 counts of alleged bribery and corrupt demands totaling $4.5 billion and ₦2.8 billion. Adetola stated he collected $400,000 from John Ayoh in 2018, following instructions from Eric Odoh via WhatsApp, and delivered it to Emefiele. He admitted to lacking documentation or proof of the delivery and had no direct communication with Emefiele about the money. During cross-examination, he confirmed he wasn't under prosecution, had no immunity deal, and had truthfully disclosed everything to the EFCC. He stated he had no involvement with the second defendant, Henry Omoile, in connection to the cash delivery. Justice Oshodi discharged Adetola and adjourned the trial.
