Manchester City Add Klopp’s Ex-assistant Coach Pepijn Lijnders To Guardiola’s Staff

Pep Guardiola has added Pepijn Lijnders and James French to Manchester City's coaching staff following the departure of three members earlier this summer. Lijnders, formerly of Liverpool and recently dismissed as Red Bull Salzburg's head coach, brings extensive experience to the team. French, a set-piece specialist with 13 years at Liverpool, also joins. Director of Football, Hugo Viana, lauded their talent and alignment with Guardiola's values. These appointments come after Manchester City's trophyless 2024-2025 season, a rare occurrence in Guardiola's tenure. Manchester City, the defending champions, now prepare for the expanded FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. They are set to face Wydad Casablanca on June 18.
