‘If Fubara Joins Our Party His Sins Cannot Be Forgiven’ – Rivers APC
APC Caretaker Chairman in Rivers, Tony Okocha, addressed speculation around Governor Fubara's visit to President Tinubu. Okocha stated that the governor's potential suspension and any state of emergency consideration were solely based on governance issues, not partisan politics. He emphasized that joining the APC wouldn't absolve Fubara of any alleged wrongdoings and that established defection procedures must be followed. Okocha dismissed concerns about the meeting with the President, noting it was Sallah season and other political figures also visited. Finally, he denied any knowledge of ongoing reconciliation efforts by Governor Fubara.
